This is the first time I landed on the island with the beauty of incredible underwater, Wakatobi. My trip here with @vera_makki, @nicowijaya and mas Vandy in order to deliver donated children’s books to Children’s Reading Garden Bee (TBAL) in the village of Mandati, South Wangi Wangi.
Friday, June 15, 2012, at 11:30 we arrived at the airport Matahora, Wakatobi. We were picked up by the bang Tonang, Pembina TBAL in Wakatobi and go directly to inns, hotels Tourism, which is located in the village of Mandati, Wangi Wangi South.
After a brief rest and lunch at a restaurant near our inn is set in the Banda Sea, we continue towards the target bang TBAL Tonang Mola village in the South to share the children’s story book donation. In the afternoon we enjoy a sunset < / em > in the village. In the evening we were invited Tonang bang to the night market. In my mind, a night market in Jakarta market like “shocked” where a lot of people selling a variety of goods and there are also games for children like in the playground. My prediction turned out wrong. The night market here really means is that the market sells a wide variety of vegetables and fish are opened at night. Precisely starting at 16:00 to 20:00 CET.
In this market, a wide variety of fresh fish caught by local fishermen sold very cheap. Compared to Jakarta or other big cities that used to sell fish by weight, in the night market fish sold per – tail, especially for fish rather large, so the price falls lower. I continued walking down the market to reach the end and find a stretch of evening sun set in the sea will soon be drowned. It was a beautiful sight and I do not find every day in Jakarta
The next day, we shared Tonang bang and air- family snorkeling . It also snorkeling experiences my first. I was instantly amazed by the underwater beauty of the Wakatobi island. Unfortunately still find some garbage in the form of dried leaves and used plastic food.
Finished snorkeling, we get around to the village water Bajo tribe in North Mola. Why is water called the village? Because the settlements there standing on the water. Interestingly, if there is a need with next-door neighbor, they were using the boat as a means of transportation. No wonder, swim and paddle boats have been done since childhood.
Travel by boat driven by a bang this Tonang water arrived in the village market. This traditional market looks like the market in general, but this market is made of a unique collection of solid wood built over the water. Local residents use boat transport, which is also used for a trip to the market. Residents here once friendly towards newcomers. Seen from how enthusiastic they “welcomed” us with a sincere smile caught on camera @nicowijaya and @vera_makki.
Today around noon, we went back to the mainland and get ready to move to the next inn, which Patuno Resort. By a team of Patuna Resort tour, we were taken around to the local attractions. The first place we visited was an Kalemana springs. The pond shape reminds me of an Khayangan pemandiaan mythical goddess. Formed naturally surrounded by high rocks that block the sunlight that makes the cool surroundings. The water was clear and cold. Often used for bathing and washing clothes by local people.
The second place we visited was Fort Liya, Liya Togo village. In this castle often held a contest to find the greatest guards. So no wonder appear myth that people of character Wakatobi archipelago is hard, because since the first “fight” to be the greatest ingrained for the original inhabitants. Land where the fort once stood is said to be under the sea. Found fossils of various types of rocks and sea shells there. In addition, it also buried in Fort envoy of Sultan Buton, decorated plates are affixed to the headstone. This tomb is still often diziarahi by locals.
The tour was over and we returned to the inn. In the evening we visited the Children’s Reading Garden Bee again. Finished playing a while with the kids there, bang Tonang and family welcomed us with a simple dinner menu incredible tasty. Fresh fish, chili sauce served directly from the mortar, hot rice and typical food made from cassava wakatobi shredded. Mas Vandy and @ nicowijaya also tried sea urchins that it can be processed into food by boiling. We went back to the inn with a full stomach and a happy heart.
It was a pleasant trip. Not only visiting beautiful places, but being in a society that really welcomed us with open arms an experience “wonderful” unforgettable.
See you again, Wakatobi.
