March 2025 – If a tree has thousands of leaves, then the children who attend NgaBUKUrit Taman Baca Anak Lebah (TBAL) have thousands of unlimited dreams. In the third week of Ramadan, they were invited to express their dreams and hopes in Pohon Harapan – a sheet of creativity that is not only a colouring medium, but also a prayer for their future.

The most exciting thing was when the children seemed excited and enthusiastic to write down their dreams. Some wanted to be teachers, police, architects, footballers, pilots, and some even wrote down simple but heartfelt goals such as being a good child and being able to make their parents proud.

After writing down their aspirations, the atmosphere became more lively as the children started to colour in. Strokes of green leaves began to appear, colourful gradations began to decorate each paper, and the children were even more excited when the facilitator mentioned that they had to use more than 5 colours to complete the colouring challenge.

The Tree of Hope colouring activity is like giving a spark of enthusiasm so that children are not afraid to dream. Reading and listening to their stories about what their dreams are in the future, seemed to build a positive atmosphere surrounding NgaBUKUrit activities.

No matter how we are today, there is no limit to dreaming. There is always hope and opportunity for everyone, not least for the children who attended the Baitussalam Mosque on this years NgaBUKUrit agenda.
Hopefully the blessings of Ramadan this year can fetch happiness that always illuminates us in living life. For children who are never afraid to dream, keep believing in the power of effort and prayer. Spread smiles and laughter, to give each other warmth wherever you are.

Let’s meet at the next TBAL event!
